Some engagement sessions feel like you’re stepping into a moment that’s still brand new, you know, that early chapter where everything feels exciting, hopeful, and full of possibility. That’s exactly how it felt photographing Jocelyn and Philip in the Santa Clarita Hills.
They met in college, and you can still see that spark so clearly between them, the kind of joy that shows up in the way they look at each other, laugh easily, and lean in without thinking twice. From the moment we started the session, they were completely game for anything. Easygoing, playful, and full of energy, they brought their connection into every frame without needing much direction at all.
We wandered through the rolling hills as the light softened, letting the evening unfold naturally. Southern California sunsets have a way of doing half the work for you, and this one was especially generous, warm tones, open skies, and that glow that only happens right before the sun disappears. It felt cinematic and oh so romantic!
This session was all about preserving that feeling of choosing each other, the excitement of committing to a future together and the sweetness of being right at the beginning of it all.
